A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the SW¼NE¼ (estimated) sec. 3, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 5 km (3 miles) WNW of Nevada City proper, N of Rush Creek and S of the W end of Cement Hill. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in diorite and aplite. The ore body strikes N75W and dips 45N at a thickness of 6.1 meters. Deposit lies near a contact with metamorphosed slate. Associated rocks include Pennsylvanian slate of the Calaveras Complex. Local rocks include Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings with a length of 618.74 meters and an overall depth of 152.4 meters and comprised of a shaft with 3 levels and drifts.

Analytical data results: Sulfides were assayed at $40 to $100 (period values)/ton.
