A reported placer Au claim located in sec. 2, T15N, R8E, and in the S½SW¼ sec. 34, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 2.2 km SSW of Grass Valley proper. The property comprises 51.33 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. This is apparently the same location as was formerly called the Star placer, shown ion USGS folio 29, Grass Valley topo map.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
