A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in secs. 2 & 11, T16N, R8E, MDM, 0.9 km (0.6 mile) ENE of Indian Flat (coordinates of record) and about 3 km WNW of Nevada City proper, S of Cement Hill & Cement Hill Road, N of highway 49. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
