A Au-Ag-PGE (Pt) stream placer deposit/mine located in sec. 9, T21N, R9E, MDM, 0.8 km (2,600 feet) N of La Porte, along the East Branch Rabbu Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in unconsolidated gravel(deposit model is
Model code 119; USGS model code 39a; BC deposit profile C01. C02; Placer Au-PGE). The ore body is stream sediment deposits at 152.4 meters thick and 457.2 meters wide. Ore emplacement control was stream hydraulics. Amphibolite bedrock. Deposit is within Tertiary gravels of the old Yuba River drainage basin. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided). Old MRDS (Weeks) District record indicated presence of Ag also.
Related tectonic features include the Sierra Nevada foothills accreted terrane.
Concentrate yielded $29.76/ton Au (2.977 oz/ton, 100 ppm), $19.80/ton Pt (0.210 oz/ton, 7.2 ppm) (period values). Concentration level not known.
