A Ni occurrence located in the E½ sec. 27, T24N, R8E, MDM, 2.0 km (6,400 feet) SS of Meadow Valley, along Schneider Creek, on National Forest land. Discovered in 1952. MRDS stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a Ni deposit hosted in lateritic soil. The area is underlain by serpentinite on which occurs a mantle of red lateritic soil. The ore body is a patch of nickel-bearing lateritic soil whose depth is not known. Local rocks include Paleozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 3 (Northwestern Sierra Nevada).
