A former Au-Ag-Pb occurrence/mine located in the NW¼ sec. 19, T7S, R17E, SBM, 8.9 km (5.5 miles) E of Black Butte (coordinates of record), about 8 miles S of Desert Center, NW of the Aztec Mines, along the eastern slope of the Chuckwalla Mountains. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10034157 presents geographic coordinates that place this mine in the Chuckwalla Valley, in an area of alluvium. That same file describes the location as being about 8 miles S of Desert Center, at variance with the coordinates but consistent with the coordinates in MRDS file #10164492; therefore, the coordinates presented in file #10034157 are considered to be in error.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. Local rocks include Precambrian igneous and metamorphic rock complex.

Workings include unspecified underground openings.

Production data are found in: Goodwin, Joseph Grant (1957).
A former Pb-Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in the NW¼ sec. 19, T7S, R17E, SBM, 8.9 km (5.6 miles) E of Black Butte (coordinates of record), along the eastern margin of the range. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10034157 presents discrepant geographic coordinates and T&R values of 33.60366, -115.17387, sec. 35, T6S, R17E, SBM, placing the locality in the Chuckwalla Valley, relatively far to the E of the Chuckwalla Mountains, an unlikely place for a lode deposit and underground openings (Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits), on a flat valley floor. These data are the least credible.

The ore body strikes E and dips 30S at a width of 0.91 meter. The vein occurs adjacent to a basic dike. Local rocks include Precambrian igneous and metamorphic rock complex.

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 75 foot crosscut tunnel with a 20 foot drift and a 25 foot shaft.

Production data are found in: Goodwin, Joseph Grant (1957).

There is a small recorded production of Au & Ag. Base metal recovery was not reported.
