Carbonate-hosted stratabound and vein Pb-Zn deposits.
The mine started around 1854.

A suite of unique intermediate/mixed-valence S-Fe(Pb) compounds are identified, e.g., by Kucha & Viaene (1992). These compounds are precursors to the banded ore sulphides.
