A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 4, T9N, R7E, MDM, 5.8 km (3.6 miles) ENE of Fair Oaks proper and 3.5 km (2.2 miles) WSW of Folsom center. This locality is evident on topo map as a strip of dredge tailings along a gulch between two hills and lying between the Fair Oaks Airport and the Two Lakes School, N of Mississippi Bar of the American River. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Local rocks include Plio-Pleistocene and Pliocene loosely consolidated deposits.
