A former Hg occurrence/mine located in the NW¼NE¼SE¼ sec. 32, T17S, R12E, MDM, 1.7 km (1.1 miles; 5,600 feet) SSE of Idria, NW of San Carlos Peak and North Hill, along the E side of San Carlos Creek. Owned and operated by the New Idria Quicksilver Mining Company (1941- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in rocks of the Panoche Formation (Upper Cretaceous) and the Franciscan (Jurassic) serpentine and sandstone. Local alteration includes the induration of Panoche sediments. The ore body is tabular. Controls for ore emplacement included the New Idria Thrust. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges) and/or ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).

Local geologic structures include the N70W Coalinga Anticline, the New Idria thrust, and faults and fractures.

Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 762 meters and comprised of an open pit mine as clearly reflected on the topo map by name.

Holmes considered this mine as part of the New Idria in production.
