According to people who have visited the locality, it is an amazonite and smoky quartz claim, in Caruthers Canyon, located sec. 5 & 6, T13N, R16E, SBM. The worked area is near the eastern canyon rim. The workings are in Cretaceous rocks of the Teutonia batholith near the contact with Cambrian dolomites and limestones.

Previously, based on the MRDS this entry stated:
"A gemstone (gem feldspar) occurrence/mine located in sec. 24, T13N, R16E, SBM, 8.3 km (5.2 miles) NNW of Lanfair, W of the OX Ranch, on Bureau of Land Management administered federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). Owned by Bob Reynolds, Redlands, California (1994). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
