A former Au-Cu-Fe occurrence/mine located in the SW¼SE¼ sec. 25 & in the NW¼NE¼ sec. 36, T6N, R2E, SBM, 7.0 km (4.4 miles) WSW of Red Hill (coordinates of record). The property is comprised of 7 claims. Discovered in 1900. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in hornblendite. The ore body strikes N and dips 85W at a thickness of 0.91 meter. The vein is 18 to 36 inches (45 to 90 cm) thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 6 shafts at 50 to 135 feet deep with pits and 2 deep shafts in sec. 36.
Production data are found in: Wright (1953).
A small amount of ore was produced in 1939. The mine was active in 1956.
