A body of mica trap (specifically, a minette), about 6 feet wide on average, is exposed below high water mark at Pendennis Head. Where it skirts the coast, it has the appearance of a sill, but then bends northwards and cuts through the host strata as a dyke.

Age: probably late Carboniferous to early Permian
