A former magnesite deposits/mines located in the SW¼ sec. 15, T6S, R5E, MDM, 0.5 km (0.3 mile; 1,800 feet) SW of Red Mountain (coordinates of record), on private land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. These mines occupy a significant portion of the SW¼ of the section.

NOTE: The USGS MRDS database file presents MRDS file #10214042 as a related file; however, that latter file has no relationship to this locality.

Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).
