A former lode Au occurrence/mine located about 2.5 km (about 1¾ miles) NNE of Alleghany, along the E canyon wall of the North Fork Kanaka Creek, E of Pliocene Ridge. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate, gabbro, and serpentinite. The ore body strikes N05W and dips vertically. The lode follows a fault contact of dark, fissile slate against gabbro and serpentine. The dark slate contains up to 6 inches (15 cm) thick beds of light gary, sandy slate. The slate is crushed and sheared close to the contact, although nearby, the only alteration effect is the presence of pyrite flakes on cleavage surfaces. The strike is N20W and the dip is 80W. Gabbro is altered, irregularly, to crushed talcose material with carbonate lenses. Veinlets of cross-fiber amphibolite asbestos at one spot, 6 inches (15 cm) in maximum width, are crossed by irregular quartz stringers and the amphibolite is replaced by quartz. Quartz is almost completely lacking. Au was said to have been found in thin flakes on cleavage surfaces of dark slate. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).

Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 adits (lower = about 750 feet; upper = 150 feet).

Production was probably small . No other production record was found.
