A Cr occurrence located in sec. 13, T30N, R12W, MDM, (assumed spot at the center of sec. 13), 1.8 km (5,800 feet) SSE of Peanut, on the divide between Plummer Gulch and Green Gulch, tributaries of Salt Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: The MRDS database gives "Major Chrome" as an alternate name for this location; however, MRDS presents a separate file for the Major Chrome, placing it 0.6 km (1,900 feet) SE of this location.
Mineralization is hosted in peridotite. The ore body is irregular in shape. The deposit occurs in one of several dike-like peridotite bodies that are NW-trending across central to SW Trinity County. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
