A Cu occurrence/prospect located in secs. 34 & 35, T14S, R31E, MDM, 3.6 km (2.2 miles) SE of Barton Peak (coordinates of record), along Deadman Canyon (Roaring River), on National Park Service wilderness land (Kings Canyon National Park/Sequoia-Kings Canyon Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Active in the 1900's. No other information available.
The mineralized belt is a mile wide. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an 18 foot shaft, a 5 foot adit and an open cut 50 feet long on the E side of the river and an old shaft and drift on the W side.
