Relicts of a late 19th century iron mine, working Ordovician quartzites enriched in hematite.
Located south of Mehlmeisel and about 4 km SSE of Fichtelberg.
The locality also includes the area between Platte mountain and Scheibenberg mountain, which is traversed by the valley of Flötz brook ('Flötzbach').
