A small surface Perlite mine located in secs. 19, 20, 29, 30, T1S, R12E; and, sec. 25, T1S, R11E, about 4 miles WNW of Superior, on National Forest land. Owned by the Great Lakes Carbon Corp. (1960) and by Grefco, Inc. (1980). Later operations may have been limited to sec. 30, T1S, R12E.

Mineralization is gray, relatively massive perlite, with little or no "onion" perlite. NOTE: Perlite deposits may contain Apache Tears.

Workings are an open pit. Production was about 200 tons per day in 1947.
