"(Coming from Bubry). From Pontivy southwest on the D2 and take the D1 towards Guern from Kergost. Quistiave is located 1 km to the left of Guern. Autunite, limonite, quartz, uraninite and parsonsite." [Belot, 1978]

"At Quistiave, the veins in the superficial layers have revealed numerous secondary uranium species, such as autunite, renardite, chalcolite [= torbernite], parsonsite, etc." [Lukas, 1978]


Quartz-pitchblende vein in granite, near Quistiav hamlet, WSW of Guern.

Two generations of quartz occur:

- Early prismatic quartz, smokey or hematized quartz
- Cryptocrystalline quartz with fragments of early pitchblende and spherulites of secondary pitchblende. This quartz contains the sulphide mineralization.
