The property is on private land, patented in 1914 by Ed Fletcher. Located south of and adjacent to the Tourmaline King mine.

A gem pocket from the Ed Fletcher Jr. mine, at Pala, shows in addition to much pink tourmaline, clay, and albite, a considerable amount of lepidolite, with only a little microcline.
