KΓΆppen climate type:
The Leadville mines are some 100 km north of Mudgee. They were first worked for lead in the late 1890s, then for pyrite for sulphuric acid production in later years. In the past they produced fine cabinet-size specimens of yellow pyromorphite and pyrite with sphalerite.
