A former small underground Ag-Au-Mn-Cu mine located in the SE ΒΌ sec. 8, T.20S., R.22E. (Tombstone 7.5 minute topo map), 2Β½ miles SW of Tombstone, on private land. Owned by the San Pedro Leasing Co.
Mineralization is silver chloride and gold values associated with manganese oxide and quartz in an oxidized fault fissure vein in Laramide Uncle Sam Quartz Latite Porphyry. Mineralization also includes oxidized copper minerals. The fissure vein strikes N30E and dips 80NW.
Workings include a shaft with workings on 3 levels.
Several thousand tons of ore were produced in the 1880's and 1890's. A sporadic production of about 2,900 tons occurred from 1936 to 1950. The 1936 & 1937 production figures were included with the Bonanza figures in ABGMT-USBM file data.
