A former small surface W placer deposit area and mine located in secs. 12, 23, 24 & 25, T.20S., R.9E., on the NE slopes of the Las Guijas Mountains, 5 to 10 miles NNW of Arivaca. Started during WWI & owned by C.E. Udall & M.J. Mitchell.
Mineralization is wolframite & scheelite, with quartz, in alluvium and stream gravels below tungsten-bearing quartz veins and lenses in the Las Guijas Mountains, and the Black Gold area to the North.
Workings include dry & wet placer operations. A few tons of wolframite concentrates were produced, mainly during WWI. Intermittent operation since, especially after heavy rains.
