Structure: Joint Planes; Low Angle Fault Zone

Deposit: Scheelite occurs in quartz veins, in pods and disseminations in limestone, and along joint planes in the adjacent granodiorite. Beryllium occurs in a zone of silicated marble adjacent to the granodiorite, 50 feet wide and at least 200 feet long. No assurance the beryllium is recoverable. Tourmaline occurs in the quartz veins with scheelite. Small amounts of scheelite occur in tactite that borders a small body of quartz monzonite intrusive into limestone. Brecciated and shattered prida shale and shaley limestone, both carbonaceous, are exposed in open pit. Granitic rock is exposed on dump but not in open cut. Presumably, the open cut was for tungsten. Shattered lenses of quartz occur in brecciated prida; presumably, the quartz contains scheelite. Granite outcrops to east of mine. Some yellow oxide stain on shale, looks like pb-sb oxide, (or vanadate?). Fault zone has northerly Strike and shallow west dip. The property was mined for silver in 1917-18. In 1933 tungsten ore was discovered. Small amount of tungsten was produced at that time and in 1954. ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept; 3 field observ

Development: The property was mined for silver in 1917-18. In 1933 tungsten ore was discovered. A small amount of tungsten was produced at that time and in 1954. The 1954 production was by charles shortino and charles s. Moore. There was no mining activity when examined in 1-984, although a house is maintained on the property.

Geology: Scheelite occurs in quartz veins, in pods and disseminations in limestone, and along joint planes in the adjacent granodiorite. Beryllium occurs in a zone of silicated marble adjacent to the granodiorite, 50 feet wide and at least 200 feet long. No assurance the beryllium is recoverable. Tourmaline occurs in the quartz veins with scheelite.
