If you want to collect here, then you have missed your chance as the pit is now the home of The Eden Project, a visitor attraction that includes what is said to be the world's largest greenhouse.
The complex comprises domes that house plant species from around the world, the first dome emulates a tropical environment, the second a warm temperate, Mediterranean environment. The project took 2Β½ years to construct and opened to the public on 17 March 2001.
