Manganese deposit in Permian metasedimentary chert.

There are following three major deposits;
- Sawairi deposit: 3km (1.8miles) NNE from Hanawa station.
- Kotani deposit: 2.7km (1.7miles) NW from Hanawa station.
- Okuyama deposit: 5.5km (3.4miles) North from Hanawa station
(very difficult to approach).
