Dolcoath Mine is the most famous mine in the town.
Camborne also had important manufacturers of mining equipment from beam engines to rock drills.
The civil parish of Camborne encompasses the western side of the Camborne-Redruth mining district.
The parish extends from the North Cliffs to a point to the south-east of Troon village.
It is bounded on the south-west by Gwinear-Gwithian CP and Crowan CP and on the north-east by Illogan CP and Carn Brea CP.
