A former small surface and underground Au-Pb-Ag-Cu mine/prospect located in the NW¼ sec. 2, T24S, R20E, 3.5 miles SE of Granite Peak, on National Forest land. Produced 1923-1941. Operators included W.E. Gardner; R.C. Hyde; M.H. Sylvester; I.D. Bryson; W.H. Harrison; and, the Gold and Metal Co. of Arizona.
Mineralization is a vein deposit possibly associated with a fault. An associated rock unit is tuff.
Local structures include a fault contact between the Morita Formation and Jurassic volcanic rocks. Many NW-trending faults such as the one near the mine are present in the Huachuca Mountains.
Workings include a 55 foot deep shaft built first; then a 500 foot long tunnel to intersect the vein below the shaft. No reference specific to this mine found except a newspaper clipping.
