Coal mine, started in 1871.

The shaft tower of shaft IV, built in 1911-1912, was the world's first constructed using steel armoured concrete and is considered to be an important technical monument.

In 1990 coal extraction stopped, and the shafts were only used for the ventilation of the newly combined Reden/Camphausen mine.

In 1995 Camphausen/Reden was combined with the Göttelborn mine to form the "Verbundbergwerk Ost" which was equipped with the highest headgear of the world at the Göttelborn site, but abandoned in 2000.
