Neuerburg Locality 1, also known as "South End of Cahuenga Pass", is the type locality for griffithite (now = ferrian saponite). The location is essentially the site of the "Hollywood Bowl" near the intersection of North Highland Avenue and Pat Moore Way and is, therefore, only of historical significance.
