Unbenannter Steinbruch ("Andraditbruch"), Kottaun, Geras, Waldviertel, Niederösterreich, Ăsterreich
A small temporary quarry was started in 2012 about 1.3 km NNE of Kottaun, at a forestry road. Exposed were regional metamorphic, skarn-like rocks, mainly garnetite (andradite) plus magnetite and hedenbergite. The mineralisation is similar to that of the nearby Arzberg locality.
Now (spring 2013) the quarry is already filled in again; only about 1,5 m of the quarry wall are accessible, although various large and small boulders are still present.
