Norman Well - Northampton mine

10 kilometres south-east of Northampton.

An historic lead and copper mine.

Montgomery describes it as being on the crown of a hill. Two shafts were found. The southern shaft was down to 25 metres on a fissure vein type lode, showing a small amount of good galena, missed by the old miners. There was no description of the northern shaft. In 1906 it was being worked by open cuts. The lode was up to 2 metres wide. Kaolin was mixed with 'bunches' of galena.

Further north the outcrop continues as dense quartz with some costeans made across it showing a small amount of disseminated galena.
