Nepheline syenite/carbonatite intrusions with large amounts of REE.
Complex intrudes late Permian black shales and is roughly circular in outline with a diameter of 3.5km. The shales are hornfelsed in a zone that is generally 300-600m wide, but extends to 1.3km in the west. The complex consists of a central stock of nepheline-bearing syenites with small areas of alkaline gabbroic rocks, together with a radial swarm of dikes that cut the complex and extend into country rocks. A N-S-trending granite dike c. 20m wide bisects the intrusion.
