Name(s) in local language(s):
A10 Autobahntunnel (Tauerntunnel), Radstädter Tauern, Salzburg, Österreich

The tunnel cuts through the base of the main east-west ridge of the Radtstädter Tauern Mts, joining the Flachau valley to the Zederhaus valley. Close to its northern entrance, located about 20 km SSW of Radstadt, the tunnel cuts through limestones of the Radstadt series, from which some specimens were recovered.

The tunnel was built, as a single tube only, in 1971 and is 6 km long. For security reasons, a second tube is currently (2006 - 2009/2010 (estimated)) being built.
The tunnel connects Flachauwinkel (northern Salzburg) and Zederhaus (southern Salzburg).

NOTE: not to be confused with the Tauern railway tunnel (separate locality).
