A former underground Au-Ag-Cu mine located about 1 1/8 miles North of Copperopolis at 4,200 feet of altitude. Started 1932 and closed 1933. Discovered and owned by Gus Lehman, later acquired by E.C. Champie.

Mineralization is a vein deposit with a tabular ore body. Granite prevails with some inclusions of schist and pegmatite dikes. The deposit consists of closely-spaced, parallel, branching veins that strike N.10ºW. and dip 25ºW., and vary in width from a few inches to 2 feet. Filling is massive, glassy quartz with limonite & a little tourmaline. Ore control was faulting and shearing. Ore concentration was oxidation at near surface. Alteration was minor Fe-staining.

Area structures include veins parallel to low-angle (less than 50 degree dip) faults which trend NW. Foliation in Precambrian schist trends N20E to N50E. Tertiary volcanics dip NE and strike NW.

Workings include about 1,000 feet of tunnels and raises.
