A former lode Au-Cu mine and plant located in sec. 28, T6N, R11E, MDM, 1.0 km (3,300 feet) ESE of Jackson (just within the southeastern city limit), on private land. Property is on the Trowbridge, Nunner and Keeney Ranches. Owned by Mark and Frances Eudey (1953), and subsequently by Biomet II Inc., Nevada (1988). It was first worked in the 1860's and until 1875. It was reopened in 1880 and operated continuously until 1914. It has been idle since that time. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. The latter owner was involved in a leach heap operation of the mine tailings.

Mineralization is a vein deposit located on the East vein of the Mother Lode, and hosted in diorite, slate & greenstone. The ore body strikes NW and dips 65NE and is associated with a diorite dike. Ore occurs in quartz stringers on the contact of greenstone and slate-schist. The main vein averages 20 feet in thickness and is covered by gouge on the footwall, ranging from a few feet to 50 feet in thickness. The highest ore grades are found in ribbon-quartz structures. The diorite dike is 4 to 5 feet thick and accompanies the vein. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 65 degree inclined shaft at 1,700 feet deep. On the 1,570 foot level there is a 3,000 drift, N from the shaft where a 485 foot winze follows the vein. A 350 foot drift was driven N on the 1,730 foot level from the winze. A 450 foot drift was driven N on the 1,865 foot level.

The mine has produced over $5,000,000 (period values) of Au. The tailings were utilized by the Amador County road department. Copper production was less than 100,000 pounds. The Au ore was low-grade, averaging less than $4 (period values) per ton prior to 1914.
