A Ag-Cu prospect located in sec. 19, T2N, R25E, SBM, 5.5 km (3.4 miles) N of Vista Peak (coordinates of record), on Bureau of LAnbd MAnagaement administered land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. This property is No. 17 in the Whipple Mountains report.
This property was examined in conjunction with the mineral appraisal of the Whipple Mountains Wilderness Study Area (Bureau of Land Management) in 1980. Backup information can be found in the WFOC mineral property files.
The ore body strikes N85E and dips 23W. Ore body No. 1 is tabular in a shear zone. ore Body No. 2 is irregular. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal activity and the secondary mode was oxidation. Primary ore control was faulting and the secondary control was fracturing. Wallrock alteration is slight (propylitic). Local rocks include Precambrian igneous and metamorphic rock complex.
