A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼SE¼ sec. 5 and in the NE¼NE¼ sec. 9, T1N, R14E, MDM, 2.6 km (8,400 feet) WNW of Jamestown (N of Table Mountain, on the western margin of Rawhide Flat, W of Pulpit Rock), on federal lands (federal lease; minerals only). Owned by the Pathfinder Gold Corp. (30.00%), Nevada (1986); Owned & operated by the Sonora Gold Mining Corp. (70.00%), Canada (1986). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate and serpentinite. The ore body strikes N34W and dips 75NE. The footwall is serpentine and the hanging wall is slate. The vein is as thick as 70 feet between the host rocks, but ore vein on the footwall side of the contact, separated by a thin layer of gouge averages 20 feet in thickness. This is the same ore vein mined in the NW-adjoining Rappahannock claim. The ore shoot trends N. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided) and/or pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.

Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 609.6 meters and comprised of a South, or main, shaft on the vein to a depth of 3,000 feet on a 6 degree incline. The second shaft is 1,000 feet N on the vein and is 400 feet deep. There are levels with drifts every 100 feet. Later development in 1921 proved worthless.

Production data are found in: Tucker, W. Burling (1914).

Reserves and resources data: Estimate year: 1986: Demonstrated 1,503,100 metric tons of ore. Au 2.274000 grams/metric ton (1986).
