Cerianite-(Ce) from
Hundholmen, Narvik, Nordland, Norway

Locality type:Quarry
Classification
Species:Cerianite-(Ce)
Formula:(Ce4+,Th)O2
Comments:New analysis of a mineral labelled as cerianite-(Ce), that occured in aggregates with a core of intimate grown with fluocerite-(Ce), was showed by re-examination of XRD-data + new studies showed to be mis-identification (XRD-data for yttrian fluorite are very close !) (Neumann 1985).
The mineral was later found at Hundholmen ( Yoklavich (2010)
Confirmation
