| Comments: | The is possibly the locality for andradite with rare crystallography from "West Thetford Mines" described by Parsons, A. L., 1935, Trisoctahedral Garnet from West Thetford Mines, P. Q., Contributions to Canadian Mineralogy (University of Toronto Studies Geological Series, 38), p. 33-36. Nonetheless, known andradite specimens from the Black Lake Mine have the same color and crystallography described by Parsons. Parsons (1935) reported a chemical composition of 78.74% end-member andradite for "West Thetford Mines" andradite. |
