Wagnerite from
Santa Fe Mountain Beryl Prospect, Clear Creek pegmatite Province, Clear Creek County, Colorado, USA

Locality type:Prospect
Classification
Species:Wagnerite
Formula:(Mg,Fe2+)2(PO4)F
Comments:It is pertinent to mention that although wagnerite is a rare mineral, neither the wagnerite nor the corundum, which also occurs at this locality, can be regarded as having special museum or specimen value. These minerals are minor constituents of a metamorphic rock and, as such, are important to the geologist as unusual mineral phases in an uncommon metamorphic assemblage rather than to a mineral collector.

USGS Professional Paper Report 955
Mineralogy and geology of the wagnerite occurrence on Santa Fe Mountain, Front Range, Colorado
Quality for species:Rock forming mineral/non-crystalline/little interest for collectors.(##)
Confirmation
Validity:Believed Valid
