Andesine from
Darien, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA

Species:Albite var: Andesine
Comments:"reported as crystals, three inches in length, occurring in biotite schist or diorite gneiss in Darien" (Januzzi, 1976). These are likely from the Harrison Gneiss, a metadiorite, which features large crystals of microcline of this size, so this may be a misidentification. No details on ID method provided.
