Comments:Cooper & Stanley (1990): "Baryte was extracted from the Driggith lode via the Sandbeds level. The main working here, however, was on the E-W baryte veins which yielded much massive baryte. Shaw (1970: 65) recorded 'a form of stalagmitic barytes ... in the 90fm level workings of Sandbeds West mine which contained 57.53% BaSO4 and 33.80% SiO2."
