Comments:One of the many confirmed humite specimens from Monte Somma has been published by Chukanov (2014). The following data is from a yellow crystal, Specimen No. 27825 from the Fersman Mineralogical Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia which has been identified by single-crystal X-ray diffraction pattern and electron microprobe analysis. The empirical formula is (electron microprobe, OH calculated): Mg6.73Fe0.26Mn0.07Zn0.02Si2.92O12F1.08(OH)0.92
Wavenumbers (cm-1): 3553, 1180sh, 1075sh, 984s, 955s, 900sh, 887s, 847, 759, 749, 613, 537,484s, 407s.
