Galena from
Brandy Gill Mine, Mungrisdale, Eden, Cumbria, England, UK

Locality type:Mine
Classification
Species:Galena

Comments:Cooper & Stanley (1990): "Drusy quartz epimorphs after a cubic mineral (to 15mm on edge) occur in a vein exposure on the flank of Brandy Gill above the east level of the lead mine. The hollow 'boxes' are coated with small yellow-green mimetite crystals associated with rare stolzite tablets. The epimorphs probably represent original galena crystals. No euhedral galena crystals have been reported but the massive sulphide is common."
