Joaquinite-(Ce) from
Narsaq River pegmatite, Kvanefjeld (Kuannersuit Plateau), Ilímaussaq complex, Narsaq, Kujalleq, Greenland, Denmark

Locality type:Pegmatite
Classification
Species:Joaquinite-(Ce)
Formula:NaBa2Ce2FeTi2[Si4O12]2O2(OH,F) · H2O
Comments:Semenov (2001) argues that the joaquinite group mineral found and described by Semenov et al. (1967) should be termed joaquinite-(Ce) based on the current nomenclature at the time. However the mineral was renamed by Matsubara et al. (2001) as orthojoaquinite-(La) in accordance with Levinson (1966) and because La is the dominant rare-earth element in the mineral.
Confirmation
Validity:Erroneously Reported
