Yardawindah Brook

Located 15 km south south east of New Norcia.

Pt-Pd-Cu-Ni prospect near Yardawindah Brook. Exploration has been in an area of forested upland surrounded by wheat farms.

Outcrop poor, and overlain by a lateritic cap. Explored 1975 by Otter, then Shell/Otter in 1977.

Anomalous values in metapyroxenite rock. The deposit is 800 metres long, trending north north-west. It consists of medium to coarse grained tremolite-actinolite rock, with metadolerite-gabbro, in cross cutting northern trending dykes, and small serpentinite lenses, quartz-feldspar schist, and amphibolite.

The Ni is disseminated, massive, matrix sulphides, with pyrrhotite dominant, and lesser chalcopyrite, minor pyrite, rare pentlandite.
