Name(s) in local language(s):
Saxberget (Saxbergsgruvan; LΓ₯ngfallsgruvan), Ludvika, Dalarna, Sverige

The deposit was found 1880 by Skarp Jakob Jansson with the mining compass. Two claims laid by Jakob and Skarp Erik Jansson (brother?) in -83. 1889 the Saxberget Mining Co Ltd (Saxberget AB) was founded and bought 100% from the different owners. 1900 the last claim was laid on Godgruvan.
Originally mined only for copper due to the problems to get sufficient quality with the Pb& Zn conc.- later solved with a combination of wet methods and magnetic separation.

Closed in 1989.

Three orebodies have been mined as independent mines in this ore field; RΓ₯linjegruvan, LΓ₯ngfallsgruvan and Godgruvan- but since (1920?) known ONLY as Saxberget (Mine).
