A mountain range located N of the western end of the San Gabriel Mountains, separated from them by the Soledad Canyon (between Palmdale and Santa Clarita). These mountains lie to the NE of the Santa Clarita Valley, SE of the San Emigdio Mountains, and S and SW of the Antelope Valley and the San Andreas fault.
