Josheghan-e-Kamoo city has been formed by the neighboring old villages of Josheghan-e-Qali and Kamoo. Both are located at an altitude of about 2200m at the southern slopes of the Central Karkaz Mountains. The surroundings are dominated by tertiary limestones (with several "marble" quarries), rhyolitic, dacitic and andesitic volcanic rocks.
